Can't seem to function without a few cups of coffee. Does caffeine give you the boost that you require to work,study or play? If coffee suits you ,when consumed in moderation , it does have its share of additional benefits. Here are a list of few of them .



Coffee as a part of the longevity diet

When studying the blue zones we noticed that the blue zone centenarians drank coffee every morning . What we notice is their mindful way of consumption of food , not just at this age but always. coffee time was filled with banter, conversation and a hint or cream or sugar the dark roasted coffee , slowly sipped rather than gulped.

Coffee is good for the heart

A study in the year 2023 explains the benefits of coffee to heart health. Drinking about 3 to 5 cups of coffee is beneficial to the heart. There were positive changes in blood pressure seen by many on regular consumption of caffeine.


Coffee may protect against neurodegenerative disorders

A study by National Institute of health says that drinking coffee may reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Multiple sclerosis and parkinson's . This is before the onset of disease . Caffeine may also reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes . This holds true for those who do not have the disease , around two cups can lower or raise insulin levels


Coffee helps liver health

Coffee consumption is associated with improvement in liver enzymes , especially in individuals with risk for liver disease. Coffee intake more than 2 cups per day in patients with preexisting liver disease has been shown to be associated with lower incidence of fibrosis and cirrhosis, lower hepatocellular carcinoma rates, as well as decreased mortality .Coffee enemas though a bit controversial is often used to clear out the rectum and help with constipation and rectal disease.
