How can meditation change your life ?

When I started off as an Integrative Nutritionist Health Coach , the one thing that I noticed that most of my clients were going through was that they held onto some kind of stress in their bodies . A large amount of people didn't even know it, and many would look blank at me when I asked them if they were stressed or worried about something .

Over the years, I realized how right I was ( not trying to sound condescending and was pleasantly surprised),when my clients sugar levels started dropping, hormones started getting balanced,anxiety, thyroid and weight issues started getting regulated and relationships started to improve once I helped my clients to get into a parasympathetic state on a more regular basis.



One of the easiest ways to regulate the parasympathetic nervous system is to meditate regularly, and there are zillion ways to do it. If someone were to tell me that they hate mediation , I would say they haven't found a technique that works for them yet.

Why should meditation be a part of your non negotiable routine ? It reduces body's inflammation, helps one slow down both mentally and physically (we ingest more information in a single day than an average man did in his lifetime 50 years back with no time to process or digest that information), reduces anxiety and stress- response, afterall the average young adult today has the same level of anxiety as the average psychiatric patient in the 1950s.

There are plenty of studies that show that something as simple as consistent meditation can rewire thought patterns, combat depression and anxiety and help on healing metabolic diseases. A 15 minute meditation can give you as much rest as a good nights sleep. There are zillion different ways to meditate and different kinds of meditations from walking and movement ones, guided, affirmative, breathwork. One can start with even a single minute everyday to see the benefits of this technique.
